national treasure & i am legend

National Treasure, just caught the movie, and prior to that, I had watched I Am Legend..

I Am Legend
Most people seem to feel that it's a depressing movie, what with the whole world dying, and Will Smith being the last man, with a dog for companionship...

I found it to be a good movie, and yes, the theme was depressing, but I was impressed with one man's focus on finding a cure for all the sick infected zombies out in the world. The focus and will to continue living on, past any reason anyone could have to live on. In the midst of hopelessness, to continue striving on for the sake of mankind's survival, and I am not talking about.. ohh.. Rambo versus the whole of Vietnam, for the sake of US survivial type of stupid action flick (although I like Rambo), or the type where, I am the last man left to save the world from some chemical explosion (e.g the Rock - starring Sean Connery and Nick Cage)... it's the type of strength in human, in the face of adversity.. and try and save the whole world from a sickness.

Conclusion: I like the movie a lot, despite the deaths (yes, I am sure you all would have guessed that I cried when his best friend left him) and loneliness that permeates the show.

National Treasure: The Book of Secrets
Ahh.. another highly entertaining show from Nicholas Cage, my fave man from The Rock, together with Sean Connery of course.

Lots of puzzle, but according to MLSA, less smart compared to the first instalment, the brilliant-ness of the puzzles. I have to get me that movie to watch...

Pace of movie was alright, could have been more exciting at times, and I could have done with more action.. more fighting... but overall, it was a highly entertaining movie, fairly rivetting and worthy of a ticket price. Having said that, it is also a movie that would be just as good on your home TV... you don't necessarily have to watch it at the theatres.

To be fair, neither does I Am Legend.

Best way to watch National Treasure: With A Bunch of Friends
Best way to watch I Am Legend: All alone in a cold, dark room.

:) Over and out...
