Synopsis:
Hugh Jackman reprises the role that made him a superstar - as the fierce fighting machine who possesses amazing healing powers, retractable claws and a primal fury. Leading up to the events of X-MEN, X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE tells the story of Wolverines epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe whose appearances in the film series have long been anticipated.
Review:
Well, there is that hot bod, which I am sure has earned the approval of the ladies out there. And there is the fact that it was very interesting to learn of how he came about his adamantium skeleton...
Well, I don't really wish to give away too much of the story, not that there were many twists, but seeing as I watched it on opening day, don't want to spoil the movie for those who have not watched it.
It is a good movie, action is good, filled with good-looking people (largely)... and even features my favourite mixed blood korean actor, Daniel Henney, who has the uneviable name of Zero in the movie. (what a stupid name, his character almost seems doomed for failure)
The stupid thing about watching the movie, was a reason totally outside of the movie. It was the fact that everything leading to and after the movie, was bloody manual. As my colleague puts it... "Oh, it's 人工!" So we have escalators that didn't work, and our jaunt over the pac hotel for drinks before the movie meant that we had to climb up the stairs, cross the bridge and back down the stairs. Then we climbed up again, and we knew GV was ahead. Nope the door is locked, so we climbed down again. Then walk in through that stupid 7-11 entrance, only to find that all the escalators have also stopped, so that is TWO flights of escalators to get to the 2/3 floor. And... they placed barriers, which is STUPID! cuz the barrier was for the path leading to GV... the whole layout is STUPIDITY!
My whole point is.. IF you have a preferred route that you want your patrons to take... Bloody Put signboards! We meet with obstacles, unclear instructions and all stairs that are not working (probably cost savings)... and we have barricades which tells us that we are headed in the wrong direction... anyway.. really really silly. Last movie I am watching there.

If I were to judge it on its own, it may deserve the 4.5, but if I were to compare it with the past 3 X-men, I think I can only give it a 3, or 3.5 because of Remy & CG effects. But there just isn't enough of him or any other character... although to be fair it IS about him, but I preferred it when he had more interaction with Jean, cyclops and Prof X. It's what makes his character stand out better because the rest of the cast can hold their own. The current batch of characters all seem so... sidelined.

p.s: I realise my paragraph above is confusing, haha... what I meant is that there is too much Wolverine and not enough of pretty much anybody else with substance. Hell, even the bad guys were weak, that was my biggest grouse about the movie.
agree they were sidelined. But I did like Sabretooth a lot. :) and obviously I liked "looking" at Zero, though his role was not the smartest kid on the block.
Agree that XI failed quite stupidly.. though I found humour in the zipped up mouth. Lame Humour, I like. Haha.
