Synopsis:
After challenging an evil dragon, rescuing a beautiful princess and saving your in-laws kingdom, what's an ogre to do? Well, if you're Shrek, you suddenly wind up a domesticated family man. Instead of scaring villagers away like he used to, a reluctant Shrek now agrees to autograph pitch forks. Whats happened to this ogres roar? Longing for the days when he felt like a real ogre, Shrek is duped into signing a pact with the smoothtalking dealmaker, Rumpelstiltskin. Shrek suddenly finds himself in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where ogres are hunted, Rumpelstiltskin is king and Shrek and Fiona have never met. Now, its up to Shrek to undo all he's done in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world and reclaiming his one True Love.
Review:
Well, truth be told, I think the 3D effects were decent. The plot was.. okay. But I left the cinema feeling somewhat shortchanged. I believe, now very firmly, that I shall not watch any movie trailer if I can help it. Somehow, trailers give the whole story away, the funniest moments, and I just find that it spoils the whole movie. It may have been a four star, but it dropped to a 3.5 cuz of the spoilers from the trailers. I know, unfair.. and for cartoons like these, it's not like I am watching it for the plot or for the acting right?
For the record, ihappened with Night at the Museum, or any funny film for that matter as well. Some movies are best watched without any prior knowledge of the jokes. I mean, how many times can you laugh at the same joke? Anyone has any suggestion of how to avoid movie trailers, given that I seem to watch movies very frequently?
