Synopsis:
The only life they've known is war. The only loyalty they have is to each other. They are the Expendables: leader and mastermind Barney Ross (Stallone), former SAS blade expert Lee Christmas (Statham), hand-to-hand combat specialist Yin Yang (Li), long barrel weapons specialist Hale Caesar (Crews), demolitions expert Toll Road (Couture), and precision sniper Gunnar Jensen (Lundgren). Living life in the fringes of the law, these hardened mercenaries take on what appears to be a routine assignment: a covert, CIA-funded operation to infiltrate the South American country of Vilena and overthrow its ruthless dictator General Garza (David Zayas). But when their job is revealed to be a suicide mission, the men are faced with a deadly choice, one that might redeem their souls or destroy their brotherhood forever.

Review:
Well... I had fun. It was what it set out to be. A violent, back to basics fighting show. Lots of guns, lots of blood, lots of vehicle/plane/ crashes, for that matter, lots of explosions... (but no sex! seriously!)

Well... plot aside.. cuz one doesn't really talk plot, there's a bad guy that you have to take down (there's always one)... and cameos by many other famous action stars... it's a fun movie to watch. Skycloud didn't quite enjoy it, but in the first place.. she doesn't like violence. Hehehe.. paiseh! Next time I jio you for romantic comedies instead of action movies ah...

Stallone's makeup/foundation was a mite too heavy, resulting in a very white face vs tanned body. Everyone had deep creases in their faces and although I know the effect was for them to look very dirty... usually, in movies, they look dirty but good (but still good looking and we can see their chiseled cheekbones, etc), but maybe due to age?, they just look dirty. Hehehe.. but just for the good ol action, we had hand to hand combat.. we had the chase sequence, we had bombs, BIG bombs... a leading lady who wasn't too chio (but had a hot body and was wayy too young for Stallone), but in the name of them "getting back their souls", the whole thing did not even end with a kiss! I told you.. this is a "sex-less" movie :P

It will be fun to rewatch this on TV... but I wouldn't give it overly high ratings... :) But I miss all my action stars. I do... I mean, if "Masters of the Universe", "Rambo", "Huang Fei Hong" are in it... you can't miss it right? :)
