I mean... seriously. In my bid to inject some life into my rather mundane and meaningless existence, I decided to go take up some courses. So... I took up the rather boliao ACTA (Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment) which is a WDA course.
What I heard was that there is the possiblity that it would become a mandatory training for all external trainers moving from now on. Soo... I just blew about 1K+ taking on the course.
Have been for the first two modules and really... really... nothing great lah. Sigh... well, I have a couple more modules to go... so I shall reserve judgement.. but it's really... I get the sense that it's going to be a waste of time. I keep comforting myself that the cert will be one that will come in useful.. but somehow... I doubt it. But now that I have paid for it, I obviously am not going to waste money and NOT go for it. So yah... sucks big time. Anyway.. the funny thing is, my organization is not too keen on this and I possibly can't get them to sponsor, which was why I paid out of my own pocket. I am still hitting myself over the head on this, cuz... ARGH!! Who pays for their own studies these days anyway? Well, not when you're working in a fairly reputable organization. One would expect that all studies would be funded by the organization cuz any improvement to your skills and abilities translates to improved productivity, knowledge and contribution to the job you are doing. ARGH... xin li bu ping heng.. and doesn't help that my sister is on my case of me wasting money on this course again.
ARGGGGGHHHHHH.... I SUPER REGRET... but I still gotta complete it..

Haha... so I obviously come from a different background because I've been paying for all of my studies, so yeah. :P

Actually, maybe the rant came out wrong. I paid for my own education as well...
Was just lamenting the fact that the rest of the people in class were sent by their companies and it's fully paid for...
If my organization values this cert (which they don't), they would have paid for it.
So I should have been backside itchy and signed up for it myself... and waste $$ too...
I thought you mentioned they were going to pay for something else?

Not confirmed yet. My boss agreed to support the course, but it is subject to clearance from the division and HR. So it's not confirmed yet.
