Review:
Well, movie would have gotten a 4 star rating from me cuz, it's been a while since I have enjoyed a 2D Fairy Tale flick that didn't try too hard. It was funny (they followed Shrek's Formula and it was romantic (they followed all their previous movies, such as Little Mermaid, etc). Well, sorta like a romantic comedy for kids.

But one thing that was missing from this whole movie.. was magic, hence the 3.5 points. If you know me, and I would assume most who read this blog know me.. I am very into magic and fantasy, knights and warriors, magicians and wizards. So... the hag didn't really know magic and would go around kniving people to get what she wants. That is rather, un-Disney. I wonder why they decided on this route.

Having said that, it was a very very funny and very relaxing movie. A feel-good sorta movie. I think it's better than Shrek 3, though not neccessarily Shrek 1 & 2. It is nice to relieve some of Disney's cartoon and to just be simple minded (seriously, who falls in love in 3 days)... and to just enjoy some of the childhood innocence of believing that someone will come along, sweep you off your feet, resolve all your problems and you get to live Happily Ever After. *insert sigh, cue music*

Would have not considered this movie before, but maybe I will give it a try. As for who falls in love in three days... well, those who believe in love at first sight, are convinced they can fall in love in seconds, and they hold to the fairy-tale-covered-lust in order to prevail in their delusion. That's how.

bwahahaa.. fairy-tale-covered-lust.. that is a good one. Yes, I think it's probably connection on a physical level more than emotional. For sure, it cannot be on an intellectual level. :P
