Review:
Somehow... somehow... the movie didn't really resonate with me. Don't get me wrong, I really liked the stunts.. especially the one involving the ultra high building in Dubai. Maybe it's the plot, although one does generally watch an action movie for the action, not the plot...

It was one that I sort of finished watching and went, okay... quite cool.. quite gritty... quite fun... and that's about it. I was going to give it 3-stars... except.. I have suddenly decided to be really kind and have it at 3.5 stars... the reason?

FOR ONCE! There was no damsel in distress! There wasn't a lady who was helpless and which the hero had to constantly pull along and rescue and they have make-out scenes just so that there's a sex component to it... for that... I have to give the movie an extra half a star.

The action is definitely 4, if not 4.5 stars. It was possibly a mixture of a fairly weak plot, storyline and script that let this movie down. And I absolutely loved Simon Pegg, although the scripting, his role, and possibly the storyline, just doesn't quite allow for his character or his comedic skills to be given full rein.

Of course, Tom is super fit and good, and I am absolutely and totally impressed that he did most of his stunts... I suspect even Sylvester Stallone can't boast of this claim. He does look older, and for some reason, his nose looks quirky.. like it's a little slanted.. but I can't be too sure (and that would be nitpicking at someone who looks as good as him)... Anyway...

It is still a fun movie to watch, I wouldn't label it as a must watch.. but if you wouldn't feel shortchanged if you paid to watch it at the cinema.. :) It's a definite Can-watch... :))

MI4 proves that the sequels with exceptions have never lived upto the class of the original. This had no mystery just action and most of it of the type already seen by us. also the movie is full of discrepancies. In mumbai they are showing signboards in Kannada. Also the cars in the final sequence have number plates which are not used in India at all. The glass shown in burj al khalifa is shown as a normal glass whereas in reality at such heights glass used are very specialized glasses which will not break by someone just banging against it. Nothing great a average movie.
