Considering that I have lost my phone "nth" time, and I am still trying to pinpoint what it is about this particular "time" that I am so upset... I have come up with a possible list:
- I have not lost my phone for almost 2.5 years, and I was very proud of it (pride before fall, and all that crap)
- It was pickpocketed, which is a first for me. All these while, my lost phones (while 1/2 had the potential of being stolen, I could never verify) Leaving my phone on my office table, canteen table, etc... technically, it would be that I lost it (since I cannot remember where I had last left it anyway) But this time, I am quite sure it was that lady who bumped into me...
- Irritation that I have such low awareness, since I have never thought that someone would actually steal from me. Sure, the bag external pocket was not zipped/buttoned, but one would imagine it has to be pre-meditated for you to decide to come and snitch my phone. And that after such a sudden bump, I still didn't suspect that the lady had taken my phone. But frankly, while I would probably try to be a little more careful in future, I refuse to become one of those paranoid people who are always keeping everything carefully and out of sight... that is too much trouble and I still believe that 99% of the time, people don't set out to try and steal things
- Money. Upset cuz I am already a little broke, seeing as I am trying to revamp my wardrobe, that I would possibly end up having to spend another sum (this new iPhone is less than a month old) to purchase a phone at retail price just breaks my heart. I am really bad at managing money.. to be specific, I should stop investing beyond my means, as I just end up being extremely broke. Sigh...
- I have allowed an attachment to grow to my phone... which in the first place, sounds somewhat unhealthy... to be attached to an inanimate object, that is just sad...
And so... hardpressed to pick ONE of them as the reason on why I am upset, I have decided that it is possibly a combination of all five. Now I have to think, what phone is cheap and good?
Sidetrack: been getting weird comments and since they were obviously spam, I will have to add in that "key in the word you see", which is a graphic kinda setting, so that I can block the spam...

Aw shit, that was the iphone, was it not??? >.< Did you keep your phone's Security pin? (You know, that code thingy that each phone has so you can identify it if someone tries to sell it off)
:( This sucks, I hope you get a replacement phone soon.

p.s: and although I am so not 'that creepy friend who names her gadgets', i have been known to cry on occassions when my gadgets die, so I feel you. Ahem.
pps: I hope you got my postcard! phones are always getting newer, so just see this as a good opportunte to expand your choices. :)
Alas, no. No Pin... so whoever gets it can use it easily... BAH.
And yah, that's me iPhone... there is that IMEI no... but frankly, I am sure the black market has a dozen ways to get around that.
I have puzzled over how upset I feel, and I finally attribute it to the feeling of "feeling unsafe"... something I have never felt in Singapore.
I did receive your postcard, thank you soo much!!! :) It was a very welcomed surprise and it now graces the sticky board I Have in front of my desk at home. :)
