Movie Review: Rudo Y Cursi (Rude & Tacky)

Synopsis:
After being discovered by a soccer talent scout, Brothers Beto and Tato Verdusco move to the city and end up playing for rival teams. A deep animosity develops between the two and things go further downhill when Beto develops a gambling addiction and Tato loses focus pursuing a celebrity lifestyle. It is at their lowest moments that the brothers find forgiveness trying to help each other while casting headlong towards their individual destinies.

Review:
It was a good and funny movie. It was a shame I missed the opening 20 minutes as the movie kaki was late and holding on to the tickets. TSK TSK...

There wasn't any difficulty catching up with the movie as the plot was pretty clear cut. The acting, the manner in which two village boys are thrown into the "big city" and how they each find their own way to cope, while pursuing their dreams is, I suspect, very true of many sportsman/entertainers who are trying to strike it big. This was a "you almost had it, but you ruined it yourself" type of movie... a little sad towards the end, but it is amazing how humans cope with adversity and amazingly, come out stronger for it. Unfortunately, seems like there's only one screening, but I would recommend anyone to rent the DVD and watch it. It's quite funny... a hugely entertaining movie.

Oh, and I forgot to add... there was this REALLY REALLY HOT BABE.. for you guys out there! hahaha... and yes, of course I am jealous... :D
